This slideshow gives you a idea how I was able to
make the Cowlings that you seen on my model boats, A block of blue foam, I found the foam was easier to stand in shape, it is also good to have an idea of the height and length and width of the Cowing.
I cover it with fiberglass cloth and risen the first layer of cloth is heavy the second layer is a medium in the top layer is fine; once it's cured I removed the foam with acetone and then wash it out with some dishwashing liquid. You can Sander the inside of the Cowing and put a note heavy layer of cloth if you think it's too flimsy, or just put another layer of resident to stiffen it up.
This is an idea that I received from my friend Bill Ruffin.
And he read it in a model magazine, he has come up with so many ideas I cannot take credit for, I call him my mentor he is a very good model builder.
The Haul for my next project was done the same way, the only thing with the haul the scoop on top was done separately and then put on after the haul was done. As you can see in the slideshow for the haul I used a feather cutter to cut the wings, this is not a beginners Project, the hall slideshow will show you how I join all the pieces together, I have made a sport 21 a sport 40 my scale boat and my latest project was or is a G1 sport Hydro. These boats are called tandem wing and my first tandem wing boat eyesore and San Diego and it was call the course dry tandem wing
